Our Legacy & History

From Humble Beginnings to Modern Leadership

The District Bar Association Sialkot, also known as the Allama Iqbal Bar, was founded under the provisions of the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act of 1973, and operates in accordance with the Bar Association Rules of Business (also referred to as the Memorandum of Association). Its establishment marks the commitment to strengthening the legal profession and ensuring a robust mechanism for upholding justice.

As a regional bar association, DBA Sialkot is under the jurisdiction of the Punjab Bar Council, which operates under the overarching supervision of the Pakistan Bar Council. This structure ensures that the association functions within the legal and ethical framework governing the legal fraternity in Pakistan.

DBA Sialkot boasts a rich legacy and an evolving infrastructure that supports its members. The association comprises seven blocks, each marking a significant milestone in its development

A Journey Through Time

1999 - 2000

Javaid Mehdi Block

The first block of DBA Sialkot, built under the leadership of Ch. Javaid Mehdi, laid the foundation for the association’s physical infrastructure.

2001

Irfan Elahi Block

Initiated by Mr. Tahir Qayum Mir, this block served to accommodate the growing number of legal practitioners in Sialkot.

2003

Chief Justice Block

Constructed under the guidance of Mr. Munawar Hussain, this block symbolizes the association's alignment with the judiciary's essential role in ensuring justice.

2008

Sohaib Rumi Block

Built by Mr. Arshad Bagu, this block met the increasing demands for space and resources for legal practitioners.

2010

Khawaja Sharif Block

Named after the distinguished jurist, Khawaja Sharif, this block was constructed under the leadership of Mr. Rana Nasarullah Khan.

2013

Mehboob Qadir Block

Constructed under the supervision of Mr. Shahid Mir, this block marked another step toward expanding the association's facilities.

2022

Ameer Bhatti Tower

The most recent addition, the Ameer Bhatti Tower, was built by Mr. Asim Iqbal Deo, representing the modern aspirations of the legal community in Sialkot.
